The economy, mergers, acquisitions, plant shutdowns and job loss have effected everyone nationwide in the industry. From the largest RR Donnelley to the small Sir Speedy shop, business is down and companies are scrambling to maintain existing sales and somehow drive new sales with a smaller workforce. The future is not bleak but unknown. The Internet is driving new business for some companies, but this business has small margins of profit. The expense of starting up and maintaining a web solution is seldom thought out before a company will start down this path. The decision to start a printing web solution is based on “We must do something to keep up with the competition” and the cost is not considered.
